Verizon Brings On a New Logo

Verizon adopted a new logo.

The company said the new look is more than just the logo as it reflects a new "renewed purpose" at the company -- the promise of the digital world.

Verizon said the new brand identity "takes the best elements of Verizon’s heritage, represented by its colors and the Verizon “checkmark,” and transforms them for a new era. At its most basic level, the new logo is a visual statement that honors our history and reflects an identity that stands for simplicity, honesty and joy in a category rife with confusion, disclaimers and frustration. It’s a cleaner, more human design and the checkmark, the universal symbol for getting things done, uniquely expresses the reliability of Verizon."

Well done Verizon. The new logo is spotless, clear and basic. In any case, I sincerely don't see the purpose of having a check mark toward the end of the logo. The first one had a check mark on the top, at any rate, giving a few ideas why they wanted the check in the first place. Since they put it at the right end of it, it looks as though they made a trade off on their logo.
