Apple Selects North Carolina for $1 Billion Data Center

Apple plans to build a massive, $1 billion data center in North Carolina to support its growing online media services. The 500,000-square-foot data center is expected to employ about 50 people and construction is slated to begin in the coming weeks.

The state of North Carolina has promised $46 million in tax and other incentives to Apple and the town of Maiden, along with Catawba County, will chip in another $7.3 million in further incentives.
