Finland's Funet Upgrades Optical Network with NSN

The Finnish university and research network (Funet), which is operated by the Finnish IT center for science (CSC), is undergoing a major optical upgrade that will delivers connections to up 0 Gbps to the Finnish research community. The Funet network will also provide its users with high-quality connections to the international research network infrastructure, such as NORDUnet, the Nordic research network, and the European G√ČANT research network.

Nokia Siemens Networks will provide the optical transmission network and routers based on DWDM for the project. The largest optical fiber suppliers are TDC and Teknomeria.
