Goodmail Raises $12 Million for its CertifiedEmail

Goodmail Systems, a start-up based in Mountain View, California, secured $12 million in venture funding in a round led by new investor SoftBank Capital.

Goodmail's CertifiedEmail provides a unique means of signaling email legitimacy and safety to recipients while providing accredited volume senders a secure, trusted channel of communications with their existing customers. Each CertifiedEmail message is sent with a unique, cryptographically-secure token that authenticates the email and is presented in the email interface with a special blue-ribbon trust icon. Senders that use the CertifiedEmail service obtain assured delivery to the server-level inbox with all email links and images presented intact as default.

  • Goodmail is headed Richard Gingras, Chairman, CEO & Co-Founder, who previously ran the online service efforts at @Home (which later became Excite@Home), including the broadband and narrowband portal divisions, and served as SVP and General Manager of the company's consumer-focused product division, Excite Studios.
