SBC Hires Exec to Lead its Video Content Strategy

SBC Communications announced the appointment of Dan York to lead the company's video content strategy and acquisition for SBC's entertainment services. York previously was senior vice president of programming and development at iN DEMAND Networks, a video-on-demand and pay-per-view company. Prior to joining iN DEMAND, York spent 13 years at Home Box Office most recently as vice president and general manager of HBO Pay-Per-View/Time Warner Sports where he had responsibility for programming operations, distribution, marketing, sponsorship and content acquisition.

SBC is currently testing IPTV services that will leverage its recently announced Project Lightspeed.
