France Telecom and Nokia Announce a Strategic Partnership

France Telecom and Nokia signed a memorandum of understanding for the joint development of new rich media solutions on mobile terminals encompassing rich media hardware, services, applications and contents by using various standards technologies such as non-proprietary end-to-end access enablers, Nokia's terminal software platforms, and the Symbian OS. The main aim of the partnership is to design, develop and deploy products and services to solve the problem of remote-access to content stored at home, with maximum end to end security, identification, and authentication guarantees. http://www.francetelecom.com

  • In recent months, France Telecom has announced several strategic partnerships with leading systems companies, including with Alcatel for the joint definition and implementation of a Next Generation Network Architecture (NGN/IMS) towards a converged fixed/Internet/mobile network.; with Ericsson, in order to jointly develop IP Multimedia Services for the consumer market; with Marconi's Wireless Business Unit focused in RF mobile technologies; with Motorola, for Seamless Mobility Solutions; and with Siemens, to jointly develop a New Generation Network Architecture for mobile/fixed networks.
