Samsung Invests in Strix for Wireless Mesh Networking
Samsung Ventures has made a strategic investment in Strix Systems, a start-up specializing in wireless mesh networking. Samsung Electronics is a leading supplier of WiMAX equipment worldwide. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Strix offer a modular, chassis-based mesh system that accomodates up to six radios per node. The platform can scale by adding more radio boards, 4.9GHz, WiMAX modules, or new technologies. The network architectures features Scalable Mesh Fast Re-route (SMFR) capabilities for distributed localized node intelligence, network topology-independent fast re-route, instant roaming, zero throughput loss, and zero latency over multiple hops.
