SHEER
NETWORKS INTRODUCES ITS
BROADBAND OPERATING SYSTEM
Sheer
Networks, a start-up based in Tel Aviv, Israel, introduced a
Broadband Operating System offering advanced service fulfillment,
assurance and billing capabilities.
Sheer’s MetroCentral OS uses distributed autonomous agent
technology to create an actively networked, real-time image of all
network elements, as well as physical and logical relationships
within the network. The
operating system mediates between network devices and service
layers, which initially include DSL/ATM and basic IP.
Sheer Networks plans to extend its model to include IP/VPN
customers by the end of this quarter and will cover DOCSIS
architectures in the first half of 2002 and GPRS/3G networks in
the second half of 2002. http://www.sheernetworks.com
