SYLANTRO SYSTEMS INTRODUCES ITS APPLICATION SWITCH
Sylantro Systems, a start-up based in Campbell, California introduced an "application switching architecture" designed for the Applications Service Provider (ASP) business model.  Sylantro’s platform includes its own softswitch capability with a range of call routing and call state handling functions. This carrier-grade system supports SS7 signaling with ISUP, TCAP, LNP, and E911, and is a software-based solution that is deployed on industry-standard NEBS-compliant hardware running Sun Solaris OS.  The system is designed to be protocol and transmission independent.  The company said its system would be distinguished from the other softswitch offerings by its software’s ability to deliver end-user applications based on LDAP capabilities.  Sylantro will encourage the use of XML document sets to enable scripting for the majority of new applications development.  Users would be able to gain access to directory-based telephony enabled functions, ranging from simplified communications forwarding options that encompass a variety of communications devices to extensive click-to-dial support.  Investors in Sylantro include Mayfield Fund, Vanguard Venture Partners and Accel Partners. http://www.sylantro.com
