BELL LABS PACKAGES MULTIPLE DSPS ON A SINGLE CHIP
Researchers at Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs have developed the means to integrate multiple digital signal processors (DSPs) on a single silicon chip, providing up to 16 times faster processing than conventional DSP chips.  The design uses a bus, or interconnection fabric, that allows multiple DSPs cores to share communication and memory resources on a single chip.  Potential uses include faster wireless devices and other communication engines.  http://www.lucent.com/press/0200/000209.bla.html
