Service Access Network (FSAN) Initiative
FSAN
is a group of 20 Telcos who are working with their strategic
equipment suppliers to agree upon a common broadband access system
for the provision of both broadband and narrowband services.
The Optical Access Network workgroup in FSAN has created an ATM
Passive Optical Network (PON) specification. This has been presented
to several standardization fora, e.g. ITU, ATM Forum and ETSI. The
current draft of the ITU G.PONB specification is based on FSAN ATM
PON specificaton. Further information is online at:
