Enavis Networks Launches T::CORE, a Global, SONET/SDH Gateway Switch
Enavis Networks, a subsidiary of ECI Telecom, introduced its T::CORE intelligent optical switch, enabling seamless, bi-directional global gateway functionality between SONET and SDH networks. The T::CORE switch consolidates multiple network elements, such as digital cross-connects, while enabling Gigabit Ethernet services over TDM. The platform's architecture features a unique matrix design designed to allow incremental and hitless in-service upgrades to 5 Tbps capacity. It offers same-shelf mix and match of multiple line rates-such as OC-3/STM-1, OC-12/STM-4, OC-48/STM-16, OC-192/STM-64 and Gigabit Ethernet, with full utilization of matrix resources for all traffic rates. Enavis said it supports all SONET/SDH multiplexing structures, as well as emerging next-generation SONET/SDH standards for point-and-click, end-to-end provisioning of broadband and super-broadband optical services onto the optical layer.
