  • In June 2007, BroadLight unveiled its BL2347 chip targeted at lowering the cost of residential ONTs. The new device eliminates at least two bill of material (B.O.M.) components common on many ONTs. Key features include embedded VoIP DSP for 4 concurrent ports, 3-way calling and T.38 fax; embedded 4-port fast Ethernet switch; gigabit Ethernet port with 1 Gbps bridging throughput all packet size; and TU-T G.984 compliancy.
  • BroadLight is headed by Andy Vought, who previously served in the Office of the President of GlobespanVirata following the 2001 merger of Virata with Globespan.
