Convergent Network's Cohesion solution, which builds upon the company's existing broadband access and trunking products, delivers multiple voice applications including Class 4 and Class 5 telephony service. Cohesion leverages a media gateway that is interoperable with Call Management Server (CMS) solutions to enable multiple applications, including primary line IP cable telephony, tandem features and business features. Other components include the Cohesion SS7 signaling gateway, tandem proxy and element management system. Key features also include support for PacketCable 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 specifications, scalable up to a density of 72,576 IP calls per seven-foot telco rack, Telcordia tested for six nines reliability, open interfaces for third party applications, and compliance with Telcordia and ANSI standards. http://www.convergentnet.com 27-Sep-02 Convergent Networks has been shipping its carrier-class Cohesion product line since early 2000.
