Deutsche Telekom Deploys Ixia for High-density 10 GE Testing

Deutsche Telekom AG will migrate to Ixia's newly announced NGY high-density 10 GE testing solution. Specifically, DT is using IxN2X to perform layer 2-3 testing of their network backbone under high traffic conditions, as well as to scale up traffic levels to see how the network performs under stressful load conditions.

Specifically, DT is using IxN2X to perform layer 2-3 testing of their network backbone under high traffic conditions, as well as to scale up traffic levels to see how the network performs under stressful load conditions. Ixia's NGY emulates internet-scale routing topologies and traffic profiles, proving that DT's network scales successfully without degradation in performance.

The just-released NGY is the next generation of Ixia's IxYukon load module family and offers complete layer 2-7 packet generation, routing emulation, and application testing. NGY modules, in conjunction with an XM12 chassis, provide up to 96 10 GE ports of testing power.

  • In April 2010, Ixia demonstrated its new NGY high-density 10GE load module running on its recently acquired IxN2X platform. This provides a high-density 10GE traffic generation solution with layer 2-7 packet generation, routing emulation, and application testing functionality. The new NGY 10GE hardware uses the same field-proven architecture as Ixia's legacy IxYukon load modules.
Ixia said this combination of the N2X line and Ixia hardware reinforces its commitment to preserve the IxN2X roadmap.
